The plot of the film, based on a true story, develops around Harriet Tubman-a former slave who managed to escape from captivity and become a free man. Having achieved the desired, Harriet decides to devote her later life to the fight against slavery, after which she begins to make dangerous forays to the southern States, where she helps to export fugitive slaves. Her ingenuity, courage, and perseverance lead to the liberation of hundreds of slaves, and Tubman eventually becomes a cult freedom fighter and one of America's greatest heroes.
